(Manipulating Darts) Skirt Style A

Skirt Style A - Basic Block as a Technical Flat
Skirt Style A is the basic block - shown as the Technical Flat

Both the Front and the Back of the Skirt Block (made on this website) have two darts in the half-block.  The darts in the Skirt Front are shorter than the Skirt Back.  In the Bodice Back, one dart is longer than the other. This bodice is actually a 3-D version of the flat Bodice Block Back that is used on this website. The style that is created by the Block is called Style A; other styles that are created by moving the waist darts are shown in Styles 01-03.

Flat Block vs Technical Flat

On the left are the Skirt Blocks (Front & Back), with the darts open .  On the right are the Technical Flats of that block; a 3D representation with the darts closed.  The blocks are always shown as half the body, as the basic pattern is symmetrical.
