Bodice Front Style 35

Design shown on a croquis; design in 3D
Figure A: Style 35 shown on a croquis (3D version of the design)

The bodice of this garment has three pleats in the shoulder. This style is the same as Style 33, except the three darts in Style 35 have been converted to pleats. The step-by-step directions are therefore the same as for Style 33, but in the final step you mark pleats instead of darts.

Example: Outcome

Final flat pattern after dart manipulation; design in 2D
Figure B: Style 35, final 2D flat pattern

Figure B shows Style 33 on the left, and the darts converted to pleats in Style 35 on the right.

The focus of these instructions is covering the theory and practice of manipulating darts and the exercise finishes after the dart manipulation has been done. For production ready patterns you would need to take further steps to add seam allowance, pattern labels, pattern piece numbers, the grainline, etc.
